Yesterday's Various Tidbits:

  • 12:31 Holy shit haha ... Rat Bone's wife is on Project Runway! The one who made the trash bag dress. Amazing. I thought she seemed familiar.
  • 16:14 I am in an extremely bad mood today. And I don't know why.

Jul. 18th, 2008 11:22 pm This subject line intentionally left blank

I got home from work today and passed out for two hours. The last two weeks have been at least the second most stressful few weeks this year. The good news is that I officially start my new job on Monday, after signing off on it back in May, and moving my desk all the way back in March. I'm really looking forward to some of the new projects that I'll be working on.

I've been rocking out Pandora a lot lately, particularly thanks to my new iPhone and car audio dock. Pandora has you pick a band or a few bands you like and then makes a radio station for you based on similar artists. You can build as many different stations as you'd like with different themes. The killer feature really is the iPhone app though, which lets you stream Pandora wirelessly over the internet into your car. Surprisingly skipping and buffering aren't much of a problem. I've been using it all week and only had three songs skip.

At any rate, if you never have, I strongly recommend checking out Pandora.

School has been ludicrously stressful this term. I've never quite had such a demanding class before. Having multiple homework assignments that take a minimum of two hours to complete is NOT FUN. This week is the culmination of it all and actually the worst (or is it perfect?) example of it all, consisting of:
Monday night: Homework assignment
Tuesday night: Class
Wednesday night: Homework assignment
Thursday night: Class
Friday night: First free time all week
Saturday-Sunday: Work on term paper
Monday night: Take final exam on BlackBoard
Tuesday night: Start new class

Thankfully, my professor reduced the term paper from 10 pages down to 5 and it will now only count for 20% of the grade, not 30%. He upped the homework by 10%, which I have to thank him for because I've gotten 90% or higher on all but one assignment, which was 87%.

In the end, I'm hoping this will all be worth it. At this point, I can't wait until I can finally say I have a Master's degree and am done with school. Then again, I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'll probably end up getting a PhD eventually. I always have wanted to be a doctor ;-)

Jul. 18th, 2008 11:47 pm Diebold Patch May Be Evidence of '02 Election Tampering

A leading cyber-security expert and former adviser to Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) says he has fresh evidence regarding election fraud on Diebold electronic voting machines during the 2002 Georgia gubernatorial and senatorial elections.
In 1995, Spoonamore received a civilian citation for his work with the Department of Defense. He was again recognized for his contributions in 2004 by the Department of Homeland Security. Spoonamore is also a registered Republican and until recently was advising the McCain campaign.

Jul. 18th, 2008 01:56 pm remember when...

Hey you guys remember when I used to post all the time from my job at the jr. high? how I'd write really sour style posts about how the kids were horrible and probably in the early stages of lead poisoning induced dementia?

Well guess who's posting from his art room desk! Me! And today wasn't pretty, but I'll spare you the details. So anyway, I have new teacher training on monday so at least I get a week without kids before the 8 months of paper cuts and tying shoes and being constantly covered in paint and peanut butter hand prints as each indevidual kindergartener trys to tug my attention away from teaching the class s0omthey can show me the exact same red triangle that I just taught them how to draw.

I love them.

Oh and as a teaser to today's FUN today 1/2 the teachers called in. So what did I do with 24 kinder folk? Tiger masks. Oh yes... there was glue in hair. And crying.

God I hate crying.

But we made it through.

the skin on my feet hurts.
it burns and when i walk feels like it would prefer to stick to the ground than to my bones, and it has this weird feeling that it is trying to peel away. it's kinda gross.
i took an adhesive bandage off last night. it was weird. the cut stung really bad and did all night, but it didn't bleed like it had before. also, since the cut was close to the surface and razor thin, i could see through the skin that had died, it was like a semi-transparent window.
the cut doesn't hurt this morning, but it's kinda pink and it looks like some blood found it's way to the surface to scab things up. i hope i don't somehow bump it open again today. but it's on my finger, so i likely will.

Melissa and I went to Canoe last night. Summerlicious was a brilliant idea, and if I knew who started it, I'd thank him/her. Melissa and I have been attempting to get into Canoe during Summerlicious/Winterlicious for two years now, but because the event takes reservations from American Express cardholders for two days before opening up to the general public, the place has usually been filled before we could even try. We were finally able to get a reservation this time around thanks to a friend of Melissa's with an AE card. Were we not paying for our own wedding, we'd have made reservations at Bymark and North 44°) as well. Maybe Winterlicious...

The food was brilliant, and we took the option to have paired wines with our three courses, and it was so worth it. I had the lamb. If I see lamb on a menu, it's hard to resist.

The cherry on the top of the whole evening was being told Canoe is hiring, given the card of one of the sous chefs and told to give him a call when I'm done culinary school.

"how impractical; everything, father. having reached the age that marks a man, but without the growing stages allowed in between, you then allow me to lead men to their deaths? this all comes under a premise i wasn't alive to know anything about in the first place! is this because from the beginning you never wanted me?
was the marriage to mother an alliance made in hopes of acquiring power? was i a casualty in waiting from the moment of conception?
you own no faults, but only remorse within your own head now, what little memory do you have after solace in all the poisons you consume?"

brood awoke alone in his room, stomache full of what one would possibly describe as a shattered goblet of iron in feeling, but only in alcohol in reality. his sheets were soaked with the sweat of his anxieties.

though he had been denounced king of the two kingdoms, and later replaced months ago now, he still had no concept of direction with his life.
the troops he excused during his reign of failed leadership had not yet returned, lending animosity that grew each day in the families that had stayed behind for their loved ones-but in reality he knew, that with the wyvern sent with the troops he could call them back to the castle at any time, with but a simple blow of his dragon horn.

brood would hold to his namesake, and further indulge in his own negative emotions, seeing only accel who remained his personal advisor as well as military tactician for the kingdom's new government, though accel would have a different opinion by this time.

if to anyone and at any time the war was considered late, it would be to brood now.

sometimes living in the ghetto is scary. i don't go to the liquor store after 8, for instance. i get all tense when walking next to big groups of people around here, too.

other times, it is glamorous. i can look at myself and go, "look at you, walking with all these gang bangers and keepin' it real."

Alright, this one is for my New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania friends. Is there a way to get from NYC to Philadelphia via public transit? I've heard it's possible taking New Jersey trains, but I can make no sense of the NJ transit website. More specifically, I need to go to Bensalem PA. Help is much appreciated.

Is just a word to me... And it might have meant a thing or two if I'd known the difference... emptiness, a lonely parody... and my life another smoking gun... a sign of my indifference...

Very happy with the new season of Project Runway. The cast looks very diverse and interesting, so it should be a good season. It's only a week and three days until the Bruce Springsteen concert, and, after that, I'm off to Philly for my externship at Happy Cog. I'm secretly hoping my host can put up with me, lol. Personal reminder: try not to bring up politics, religion, or any other subject that might make things awkward.

I'm fucked financially. Despite receiving a letter from the government saying that my check was coming, an article my mother read seems to suggest that I won't be receiving one after all (even though initial articles said that I qualified, and I got that letter). I planned my summer around receiving that $300 check (and my Gettysburgian money, which also has not come). Looks like I won't be getting any new clothes this summer, and I'll have to watch myself at the concert. It's gonna be great going into the school year, too, as the college takes FOUR FUCKING WEEKS TO PAY YOU AFTER YOU START UP AGAIN. Serves me right for daring to take a break this summer. It'll prolly be the last one I get.

Anyway, did all of you who expect government checks get yours? Maybe there's still hope, lol. Amazon is taking their good old time processing my tv, and the last thing I need right now is more drama, but it keeps coming. I'm lonely, and I miss Gettysburg. I had a nice streak of happiness right after the 4th of July, but that dried up right quick. I'm hoping I'll get some back before and during the concert.

I kept a chain upon my door that would shake the shame of Cain... into a blind submission... the burning ghost without a name was still calling all the same... but I didn't listen...
